Hand Seamers with Cast Zinc Jaws

Malco Hand Seamers, with die cast zinc jaws, are gentle on painted or coated metal surfaces. These seamers are ideal for making clean and accurate bends and seams in aluminum roof flashing, coil stock or fascia. The Jaws feature depth graduations in 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) increments to a maximum 2-inch (50.8 mm) bending depth. The jaws of these large die cast seamers are bowed so that they will hold firmly and evenly across the entire jaw width even when engaged on very light material.  The large surface coverage this tool offers, also has an appeal for limited flattening / straightening tasks in light gauge painted steel including edges of auto body panels. Durable construction offers long, dependable service life under normal use. These tools also feature rust resistant nickel plating.

Malco’s Hand Seamers, with die cast zinc jaws, also feature ergonomic RedLine Handle technology.  An Engineered handle opening compliments the natural power stroke of any user’s hand and maximizes the powerful 7:1 mechanical advantage of compound-leverage head to handle linkage.  Comfortable handle grip contours, a non-slip grip insert, spring handle actuation and a thumb-operated handle latch ensure a natural fit and feel for comfortable one hand operation anywhere on the job.

Attention: These Seamers are not warranted for use as a striking tool or for prying or bending heavy ferrous sheet metal.

Great tool, 5 star rating

I have been using this tool for over 20 years on 16 oz copper and aluminum flashing. It works great. I recently used it on 20 oz copper and it broke. I bought a new one through Amazon for immediate use. I then contacted the customer service department telling them what happened and looking for a new replacement jaw. They stated the tool was not designed to be used on copper and was not covered by warranty. I emailed back stating I did not care about the warranty and wanted a new replacement jaw so I could continue using the tool for another 20 years, just not on 20 oz copper. They emailed back and stated they were going to send me a new S9 under the warranty coverage. Great customer service!!! Thank you

Breaks Way Too Easily

These are very handy tools, but the cast jaws are far too fragile at the main hinge point and my guys keep breaking them no matter how careful they are. It is not a matter of if. It is just a matter of when with this obvious design flaw. These need to be redesigned to be thicker metal at the hinge. If not then replacement jaws need to be included, or at least make available low cost replacement jaws to have on hand for when they will break and need fixed.

For work with light gauge aluminum, it works great

I work in the insulation industry, and I have to work with 26 gauge aluminum on a regular basis. This seamer really fits the bit nicely, and I love the extra deep and wide jaws.
