What materials can the hole saws be used on?
Malco’s carbide tipped hole saws provide quality cuts in fiber cement siding and backer board material. Other varieties of materials can also be cut, including wood, wall tile, fiberglass and plastic.
The hole saws will cut thick and multi-layers of material as all sizes have a generous 2-1/4” (57mm) saw depth.
Are there kits available?
Malco offers a custom kitting program that allows you to pick and choose products to build your own kit. Malco’s carbide tipped hole saw sizes of 3” (HF7) and 4-1/8” (HF10) and HHA1 arbor/pilot will allow you to have essentials needed for completing a fiber cement siding job. We also suggest adding Malco’s FCC3 hand nibbler, FCFG facing gauge, FCG2 overlap gauge, TSF1 fiber cement turbo shear and FCN notcher to your kit.
Why are the Malco carbide tipped hole saws different from others available?
This set of hole saws will cut into fiber cement and other backer materials to make holes for water lines, electrical conduit, outlet boxes, lights, lamps, water hose taps, dryer vents, stove and furnace vents, copper and plastic pipes, electrical boxes.
It cuts through multiple layered materials faster than competitors. It is aggressive and therefore cuts many layers quickly.
The quick change adapter and ease of removing the bit make this attractive to the contractor who changes sizes regularly. This adapter system also makes removing the plug material from the saw very quick and easy.
What are the benefits of having a hole saw “carbide tipped”?
Carbide tipped hole saws have a much longer life compared to conventional type hole saws (Bi-metal style) when cutting Fiber Cement siding or Backer board. They can last up to 50 times longer.
Faster cutting speed is another benefit. The saws have a aggressive cutting action with deep gullets to keep the hole saw teeth clear of chips and sawdust, which allows the teeth to cut, helping to give the hole saw it’s fast cutting speed.
